I chose The Only Girl in the World by Maude Julien for square 7: Human Rights.
My review is here:The Only Girl in the World
What a sad, sad story this was even though Maude did triumph in the end, and is now dedicating her life to helping others. For the first 20 years of her life she really had no rights at all other than those her monster of a father bestowed upon her.
