Black Leviathan Prophecy by Paul Roberts

Black Leviathan Prophecy - Paul Roberts

I read this short story in between a couple of longer books as a palate cleanser, so to speak. Having read Psychros by this same author, I had high hopes for this story. (Plus it has this super cool looking cover.) I have to say that I didn't enjoy this story quite as much as Psychros.

A couple whose marriage is on the rocks are on a trip to Bangkok when they find they have been drugged while having cocktails at a club. From there this story skips around a bit and at times was a little hard to follow. Everything does come together in a fantastic ending, however, and there is no doubt that the book is well written. The prose is dense and packs a lot into each sentence, so this isn't the usual- let me bang out this short story in the doctor's waiting room- type of thing.

Overall, this was a pretty good read;  expect to have it take up your full attention. If you do, you will be rewarded with a cracking ending!
