Reading progress update: I've read 35% of Night of the Wendigo

Night of the Wendigo - William Meikle

I love Creature Features! Do you? This particular one is based on the legend of the Wendigo.  I read the original story The Wendigo by Algernon Blackwood and I thought it was just okay. (However, The Willows  by Algernon Blackwood was absolutely top notch for an older, scary story, and it's free for your Kindle, just click on the title.) I read the Blackwood story quite a while ago, so to freshen my memory on Wendigos I looked them up on Wiki and this is what I found out.

Some of the words used to describe them are malevolent, cannibalistic and supernatural. They are often associated with cold temperatures, starvation and famine.

They are also associated with North America and Native Americans Tribes such as the Ojibwe, Eastern Cree, Westmain Swampy Cree, Naskapi, and Innu

In short, Wendigos are some scary-ass creatures. So far, I've enjoyed what Mr. Meikle has done with them in this novel and I can't wait to see what happens next!
